yah the ES marking is done with a diff laser it appears.

Kinda cool, probably used it for a qualification sample

Laser engraving on metal is not that easy and cannot be done with "cheap" CO2 lasers.
but, you're right, it could be...

Always possible, I got it from a computer tech/scrapper, so most likely its one that just ended up in a PC and got shipped
