hi im trying to modify the code on the eprom but i can't cause i don't know what type of cpu this is. it has a number but that doesnt mean anything cause its false. the ecu is out of a 88 model mazda 323 turbo. it says its manufactored by denso.., but thats not true.. so if anyone could tell me from looking at the picture.. the cpu is the one on the bottom left with the numbers writen on it d 151801-2200 .... i have a theory that it could be a motorola 6801. but the pin settings and the total design of the cpu looks different..

323boy: its produced by a company called Zilog.

"Zilog 2011" to be exact. They were mass producers in the 80s, especially when it came down to remote controlls for tvs etc. The automotive sector was one of their main areas.

Unfortunelty there isnt much information on them on the web, but i do have a friend here in the UK who might has some old data manuals on the instrution set etc.

Let me know if you are interested.

Arthur.

Havent heard of the Z2011

Tha package looks an awful like a NEC 7810 or 7811 CPU

it's a NEC microcontroller made for an OEM.
it's labeled with an OEM-name.
i think, no chance to find out what it is exactly...

I agree. Not only the package, but also date code markings look like on NEC 78xx/78Cxx microcontrollers.
