Hello, first post here...
I have a Asus K55A laptop. Currently hosting the i3-3110M Processor.
The laptop can go up to i7. I got a Intel Core i5-520M Mobile SLBU3.
Laptop powers, but nothing comes on. Why? Why can't this laptop capable of taking up to i7 not read this cpu? It's socket G the same as the i3. |

As far as I can see, the i5-520M is a first generation Core processor (Arrandale) whereas the i3-3110M is a third generation (Ivy Bridge) http://ark.intel.com/compare/65700,47341
That might be why it doesn't boot. |

You can insert socket G1 and G2 processors into socket G, but only one package type is supported by your motherboard. Your notebook will work only with socket G2 processors, and the i5-520M is a socket G1 CPU.
