Had some more CPU's arrived today, along with them several 486 CPU's. I happened to notice that one of the backs of the 486 DX2-66Mhz was black. I am assuming that this is a rare CPU as I have about 30 Intel 486 DX2-66's and this is the only one with a black backing.
Can anyone confirm that this is in fact a rare CPU and why it is different?

This is my first post on this website. I have been posting on www.cpu-collection.de for about a year now. I have about 350 different CPU's and about 1000 in total. I collect CPU's that I am familiar with which is generally 486 - Present. The bulk of my collection ranges from Pentium 60 to 1ghz Intel / AMD / Cyrix / IBM

The black DX2 is Intel i486 with write back cache, i.e P24D instead of P24C core
It is still considered as a common cpu, just a little harder to find than normal one |
