These are some unique modules.
They have an Intel QD8051 (unusual in itself) as well as a QD2732A EPROM
They plug into a 40-pin socket, allowing a MCS-51 system to be upgraded to use more memory, or replacing a MaskROM chip with one with an external ROM, in this case a 32k EPROM
I have 3 of them, lets do $14 each _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

One for me.
(actually this doesn't add more memory because the 2732 is 32 kbits, i.e. 4 kbytes - which the 8051 already has; unless it's configured to be appended to the internal ROM; but it does make it user-modifiable. And since the socket is 24-pin you cannot put a 2764 or bigger chip)
(edit2 - you CAN plug a 2764 if you leave pins 1,2,27 and 28 in the air, and connect pin 28 to pin 26, but you won't get any benefit as you'll be using only half of the 2764. Unless you don't have any 2732s around...) |
