Searching for Info about desktop powered laptops

Hey all,
I had an end-of-term project at my college about computer hardware in which i was going to write about laptops powered by desktop processors (ie P4 s478 in a 15" Toshiba). Unfortunately i didn't have enough time to get enough information about this topic, so i chose a different topic.

Fast forward 6 months and i am still interested in these desktop powered laptops and would like to delve deep into how people manufactured and tested the thermals/power requirements/other as well as the history behind all of it

i have the Toshiba mentioned earlier (i forget the model number, its around here somewhere) as well as an older boutique laptop that runs an athlon circa 2002-2003

if anyone has any info about any of this, or even a link to where i could find info about this, that would be awesome
