Hello,

About 7 years ago I published a simple chart of computer components called "Computer Hardware Chart". Folks liked it and have been asking for a updated version. Well, I've finally got a draft ready.

If you are willing, please take look at this (rather large) png and provide feedback about the technical accuracy and overall layout.

Draft download link: http://www.sonic84.com/files/Poster_v2.0_draft_20160116.png.zip
Please do not re-post this draft version elsewhere, the final version when published will be free to download.

Please note: I'm expecting the hardware for socket FS1 to arrive in the mail soon, so in the mean time that space is blank...

For reference, here is the old version: http://sonic840.deviantart.com/art/Computer-hardware-poster-1-7-111402099

Thank you!

That's an awesome job. Smile

Concerning this new version of your chart, I found just a couple of typos:

LGA-2011-3 -> pin count 2011 instead of 2083
Infiniband HCA -> an extra "i" on the chart

Also, it could be interesting to add some old stuff like PGA68 (Motorola 68000/68010) or non-x86 CPUs like UltraSPARCs...

There is actually 2083 contacts on a LGA2011-3 CPU. Some mobo makers use a LGA2011-3 with 2083 contacts (Gigabyte, MSI, Asus), some others (Server boards) with 2011 contacts.

The socket pictured here is a LGA2011-3 with 2083 contacts.

Thank you for the feedback and for letting me know about the PGA68! I don't think I'll get it in to v2.0 of the chart. But I'll see if I can make room in the next rev.

I've posted a updated draft here: http://www.sonic84.com/files/Poster_v2.0_draft_20160122-01.zip

Thanks again!

This is really really impressive! Been a fan of your work for years, and have found the charts useful in my profession.
