My offer is not so high, I'll try to take a die picture of it.
Is $5 OK? |

Well, I wasn’t aware about the previous die shoots. Basically I don’t want to waste/destroy it just for fun. You have a great idea, and some details needs to be considered in order to implement it.
I’ll need to repeat that I have joined this forum group as I like to take die shots of various chips, but my setup is very simple, I use a Canon EOS 5D and the MP-E 65mm macro lens. Now, I’m not really prepared for a perfect mechanical setup in order to squeeze all the performance from that lens, but I will try to do my best in the future.
IMHO that particular die shot can be improved by my actual setup.
All I need is some time and more accurate preparation. |

This die is among the smallest ones I've photographed and it's too small for my setup. I lose sharpness with zoom of scope maxed out, and in this case die still doesn't fill whole pic. Maybe I could get a bit sharper pic with less cromatic aberration by trying again because some small dies have been better. However, I don't like trying again because it may fail due to some dirt on die or not as nice illumination.
Can you take good pics of about 5 mm wide or smaller dies with your lens? |
