I have sold item on ebay for 180 USD. Have sent best tracked mail I could use (Global Express):
https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction.action?tRef=fullpage&tLc=1&text28777=&tLabels=LX003671098PL
Buyer wasn't honest and opened dispute. Won and got refund from me automatically. eBay do not care about all case and details. eBay appropriated my fee charges.
I'm lost 180 USD + about 20 USD fees.
I have know many lawyers and prepare court case against if any will take it.
All what I want to ask you american members is if I can do something more ? For example prepare an message to police departament for suspected of committing a crime - extortion ? Do you have an organisation to help some people like me ? We do have in Poland. Any other advices are welcome. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

You mean item ? Old vintage cd player.
He said he has not received. When I asked him to contact nearest post office because he have tracking number I got silence and dispute changed to claim.
I have wrote shipping number in eBay and they could check it. When I click tracking info at ebay in sold section - it says delivered with details. In dispute I have provided tracking info manually to be sure. At dispute details tracking info said item was delivered. eBay doesn't care about all this informations. They said I should provide tracking info. Their short answers was like "Next time you should proof that you are a human not a monkey".
EDIT :
Maybe I will try a find lawyer experienced in similar cases from US ? Maybe you have a "law forum" where it will be possible. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Someone would say " Lawyer ? Court case ? give it up man !" but cann't leave it as is. Today is 200USD lost tomorrow can be another lost with so ridiculous eBay's decisions.
I'm putting official complaint and request explanations from polish post office. If I could get an email to right american unit it would help especially from Oak Hill / Herndorn VA.
EDIT :
I cann't call ebay because they have phone numbers able to call only from inside US. Email ? They do not have. My appeal to case was ignored. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Herndon is in the Washington, DC area. Maybe a member in that area can figure out who to contact locally? _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

Mmennnnn - eerily familiar. I sold an iPhone 5 a couple of years back. The buyer claimed it had not been delivered and when I proved it with the proof of delivery they gave me some funny story about maybe that it was stolen from their mailbox. I had proof of delivery with that stupid persons signature on it. So.... what I did was the following:-
1. I researched their local area and found out where the nearest police station was located.
2. I looked at the police department website for the name of the local beat/precinct officer
3. I wrote to the buyer pretending to help them.... I told them that I had contacted Officer XXX from police station YYY and that the officer had volunteered to visit to discuss this case as there had been multiple reports of thefts in that area....
I asked could they let me know when they were next home so that I could arrange a convenient time for the police officer to visit..... surprise surprise the iPhone was quickly found - "a neighbors son" had picked it up by mistake - oh yeah.....
I was satisfied.... until the stupid buyer then complained to eBay that the phone was broken and that they wanted a full refund. I spring back into action again. I mail the buyer to tell them they are playing funny games, the phone was perfect, not even a scratch on the case. They waffled on about all-sorts so then I told her that I would have the phone blacklisted and that it would be turned off within 3 days and the phone entered on some database that meant it could not be used. (I now know that there is no such database that I can find...). The next mail I get from her is begging me not to turn the phone off. Please PLEASE don't blacklist it. Why? I asked - if the phone is useless then whats the problem. I guessed that she had already sold it on to someone else. I asked her to drop the case with eBay and Paypal - she did so. My money was safe. I then emailed her and told her I had been playing with her all along..... VERY satisfying. _________________ best rgds.

You are talking about hiring a lawyer but I am guessing that you have no idea about the hourly rates of lawyers in North America, $200 is pocket change for them and there is no guarantee that they will win the case. Therefore, I would stay away from lawyers.
It is risk of doing business, you cannot slam dunk all the time.
I would just let it go, not worth chasing in my opinion. |

Not a problem here. Lawyers here are making one document for about 40 USD. In some cases one time is enought to fix the problem
eBay free purchases not from my auctions ... sorry. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
