Hi all

I would like to know the answer of three questions if that possible. It is verey important for me to know the answers, so please help me as you can. The questions are :
1- Describe the basic steps carried out by a CPU for each basic type of instruction.

2- A basic CPU executes one instruction every few machine cycles. Describe one method which modern CPUs have been designed to reach the goal of at least one instruction completed in every cycle.

3- To execute a LOAD operation data must be brought from memory int a register on the chip. Describe these steps and include in your answer how a cache memory would also be accessed.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE

BEST WISHES

Fetch->Decode->Execute

2- A basic CPU executes one instruction every few machine cycles. Describe one method which modern CPUs have been designed to reach the goal of at least one instruction completed in every cycle.

Pipelining and out of order execution

3- To execute a LOAD operation data must be brought from memory int a register on the chip. Describe these steps and include in your answer how a cache memory would also be accessed.

Depends on the CPU, but in a simple CPU where the entire address is given. The address must be put on the bus, the CPU must wait for the data valid signal, and then switch the databus to a that register.
