I have i5 (3 yo) with 12 Gb of RAM, SSD for system, 2 x 2Tb WD RE HDD and three old monitors.
I don't have any computer at home but I'm going to install Mac Pro (2Xeon, 9 yo) which was presented me by one friend.

I've got
good old i7-2600K
16 GB RAM (just updated to make sure I have enough to edit largest 200+ MPixel die shots)
GTX 980
240 GB SSD + 2 TB HDD
40" 4K TV as display (important to choose and enjoy die shots)
Unfortunately, my GPU is way too underpowered for gaming, and I'm afraid SLI may sometimes fail like with World of Tanks that's pretty much the only game I'm now playing. Thus, I need GTX 1080 or even 1080 Ti if I somehow can wait after I couldn't wait for GTX 980 Ti last time.
Then I also need TV with full 4:4:4 chroma to get rid of annoying 30 Hz on desktop, but TV and GPU upgrades are getting way above my budget. Maybe I should just release more die shots and play less WoT... |

Impressive ! Never seen something like that.
My PC is a "grey mouse" between your beasts
i3 4350 bought from Mike - our greece cpu friend
8 GB DDR3 (enough for webbrowsing
VGA integrated in i3
Samsung EVO 250 SSD
Dell 23" IPS-LCD
Technics HD515 miniHiFi as audio speakers
Quiet and low power configuration but web pages, basic programs are opening at finger's snap _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

I quit building computers when laptops economically started to meet my system requirements 5-6 years ago and last year I switched to MacBook finally, I don't think I will be using any other brand moving forward unless apple goes bankrupt. |
