purchased a hard drive with xp pro on it for my laptop . the lap top had millenium on it and the drive went out . put the hard drive with xp on it in the lap top it cones up to a blue screen that says [ a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. run chkdsk/f to checkfor hard drive corruption. and then restart your computer.

technical information

*** stop: oxoooooo7B (oxfc8db640, oxcooooo34, oxoooooooo,oxoooooooo)

Windows doesn't like having a completely different computer given to it.

In short, you need to format the hard drive and reinstall windows.

Ya ,I completly agree there.

Exemple:

If you have ,lets say a AMD Athlon 1700+ XP and a AT-MAX2 motherboard, and you want to change to...P4 3.2gb and ASUS motherboard...anyway,your Windows XP will reject for one, all the drivers and everything that boots with that particular, first initalled system!
There for resulting in your "blue screen error".
