| Hello. I have this old laptop Acer Aspire 1300 and, just for an exercise, I want to replace its CPU Amd Duron. But I do not know how to open the socket A462. The CPU is not soldered, but it will not come off easily. There must be a trick that I do not know. See photo here: https://imgur.com/a/2V236 Can anyone help? Thanks and regards |

| The tabs on the ends of the socket are screwdriver slots. Insert screw driver in the shorter end and twist slightly to unlock. Top of the socket slides a little. To lock the socket back up, do the same thing from the other end. Be gentle, it doesn't take very much effort. |
