Somebody is scraping s-spec pages using various open proxies. I have a suspicion that it is done by a forum member, hence I'm posting here. Per CPU-World's terms and conditions policy, content scraping is not allowed. Our anti-spam/anti-scraper blocks such activity, but sometimes people try to bypass it using open proxies, tor and vpn servers, and this really pisses me off, up to a point when I'm ready to block large blocks of IPs. So, to a person doing it: please stop it while it's not too late. Or else...

They could just ask nicely, and, perhaps, donate something to my collection

what is content scraping ?? why would someone want to do this and for what purpose ? Who does this harm and how does one benefit from this ?
I use this site for personal knowledge, I have a great interest in microprocessors I'm a computer enthusiast. I've had around 100 computers and at least double that many CPUs, been using computers since early 80s started on Apple II+, commodore 64 and IBM XT I try to keep abreast of all CPUs architectures from AMD and Intel for my personal knowledge. I have read extensively on microprocessor chip design, theory, manufacture and marketing I've just wanted to know about this fascinating device called the microprocessor
I went to school for Electrical Engineering and was blown away in college Micro Class when we all learned completely how a microprocessor works down to the transistor level the complete design, I picked up on Assembler Language like it was second nature, several students struggle with it.
This site is so awesome |

From Google:
Content scraping is an illegal way of stealing original content from a legitimate website and posting the stolen content to another site without the knowledge or permission of the content's owner. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Hi,
I've made an Excel sheet containing the CPUs I own - I wanted to put in direct SSpec links - but clicking a link gets me an error message. Is this because some precautions are made to avoid content scraping? (error message (my own translation from danish) "Could not transfer the requested informations")
