|
|
Hi,
I was wanting to know if D8749H Microcontrollers should normally have markings on the back?
The D8749H shown looks like it has an FPO number L6260237, >> Malaysia - week 26 1986, do all IC's with an FPO then not have marking on the back?
I just wanted to make sure this is genuine, but I am thinking it would be really hard to forge the MCU under the window!
I just really want to know more about marking in the back of intel IC's in general. Did they stop marking the backs of DIP's and when did this stop. Was it when FPO markings started?
Thanks. |

They usually do, though some late chips don't, yours may very well be a 1996 production chips rather which would explain the lack of marking on the back. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Thank you john,
Like a lot of these things, it looks to be a bit of an enigma except for those at the controls of Intel at the time! |

ahh yup, def 1986 then. Possible the markings got rubbed off, or they just got forgotten, when ya make millions of chips it happens. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Or it is remarked... from some similar MCU or EPROM?
sourced from Chinese parts supplier..
It is hard to verify the die, at least you can see it... |

Here is a closer picture of the die.
I am not sure what it should look like, if anyone has one of these and can compare it for similarity that would be appreciated.
