Hello everyone,

I want to buy Asrock H110M-DVS R3.0 and Intel® Core ™ i3-7100 3.9GHz 3M LGA1151 BOX BX80677I37100. The motherboard page says that this processor is only suitable for the P1.10 BIOS.(First released)

Is the main board or processor damaged if I get the motherboard from the store with another BIOS (not with P1.10, but with a different BIOS version)?

I can not know what version of the BIOS is in the motherboard until I turn on my computer ?!

Thanks in advance

Hello,
Don't worry you will not damage CPU because of old version of BIOS. The main problem is that your PC with to old BIOS will not POST. It means you will not be able even to enter and update BIOS to latest version. Asrock put a sticker on their boards with BIOS version inside info. I'm not sure if they do it on all their boards but it is worth to ask a seller.

Currently I have similar problem. To fresh CPU on old BIOS. I have to buy cheap old CPU supported in first BIOS releases update to latest and then change CPU to that I have now.

PS. 1.10 is not first release. I suspect the first one was 1.00. You have two options of getting 1.00 or 1.10 because there are no others.

I think you don't have problems with any bios installed if it's 1.10 or newer
the CPU you chose it's a Kaby Lake core wich is essentially just a ‘tuned’ version of Skylake
so like Marcin said I think there was a 1.00 revision of the bios wich supported only Skylake and then from 1.10 are supported also Kaby Lake core
this is the reason why the CPU Support List ASRock page say all Skylake are supported from all bios and Kaby Lake from 1.10
