|
|
I've come from Moscow yesterday and brought back some chips with me. Here are some interesting things about the 1801 USSR microprocessor series.
Did you know that a KM1801VM3 with a small dot near the datecode is named KM1801VM3B ? And the one without the dot is a KM1801VM3A.
Have you ever seen a KN1801VM3 ? Not even talking about samples of this chip (ОП) ?
Did you know that KN1801VM4 exists?
A triangle on Soviet chips means that they are vulnerable to a possible static electricity damage. Two 580VM80 listed as an example.
This is all for now, will do a very interesting update to the site in a few days with these and lots more chips.
Any comments are welcome.
Cheers,

Are the 1801 series processors Z80 clones? _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

No, 1858 series is Z80.
1801 is a Soviet design, it's command set is DEC PDP-11 compatible. The series has been widely used in personal computers by the way.
Edit: Soviet personal comuters _________________ Collecting soviet and western CPUs once again -- highfive to old-timers o/ |

Thanks. I'll know what I'm looking at if I see one on eBay now _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I don't know. How can two identical 580VM80 on my site - both by Kvazar, one with a triangle, one without one ( http://cpu.in.ua/collection_ussr_580.php ) be different in this way then? This is strange, but that's what I've been assured of. _________________ Collecting soviet and western CPUs once again -- highfive to old-timers o/ |
