When is an 8755A not an 8755A?

Here we have a very early Intel C8755A-8

Its dated 7750, which predated the introduction of the 8755A

So lets look at the die

Oh a 1976 copyright, a 8755A should be 1978

However an original 8755 non A IS a 1976 copyright, and also a very rare chip

THis was from a uni kit, so apparently Intel just remarked some 8755s as a 8755A

Not uncommon, one of their biggest fab's is there and design centers
