Just wondering if the CWID.exe tool can be run in an offline/local mode to show the data - or to export the CPU data into a local file.

So far it doesn't seem to work without an active Internet connection

NOTE: I could try with a MITM proxy, but first want to check if the tool is designed with an offline mode to export CPU data into a local file Smile

The CWID program only collects CPUID information and does not parse it. All processing is done on the server. To see what this program sends to the server please run it as:

CWID -d

When -d option is provided, the program prints collected data and quits without sending it. I hope it helps.

Thanks Gennadiy,

Any hints what each part of the output would mean, as mapped on the CPU-world API?

See below the data for my laptop i7 CPU (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4600U CPU @ 2.10GHz) as provided by the tool:

>cwid.exe -d
VERSION=0.5&CPUID=00000000: 0000000D 756E6547 6C65746E 49656E69|00000001: 00040651 01100800 7FFAFBFF BFEBFBFF|00000002: 76036301 00F0B5FF 00000000 00C10000|00000003: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000|00000005: 00000040 00000040 00000003 11142120|00000006: 00000077 00000002 00000009 00000000|00000007: 00000000 000027AB 00000000 00000000|00000008: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000|00000009: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000|0000000A: 07300403 00000000 00000000 00000603|0000000C: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000|0000000D: 00000007 00000340 00000340 00000000|00000004: 1C004121 01C0003F 0000003F 00000000/1C004122 01C0003F 0000003F 00000000/1C004143 01C0003F 000001FF 00000000/1C03C163 03C0003F 00000FFF 00000006|0000000B: 00000001 00000002 00000100 00000001/00000004 00000004 00000201 00000001|80000000: 80000008 00000000 00000000 00000000|80000001: 00000000 00000000 00000021 2C100000|80000002: 65746E49 2952286C 726F4320 4D542865|80000003: 37692029 3036342D 43205530 40205550|80000004: 312E3220 7A484730 00000000 00000000|80000005: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000|80000006: 00000000 00000000 01006040 00000000|80000007: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000100|80000008: 00003027 00000000 00000000 00000000|&FREQUENCY=2693&VAL=WINd.ZW6/Q1/H0hi53D1R1

Wondering what is the the CPUID above - as used on CPU-world site?

Thanks, Marian

Answering my own question, I reckon 00040651 is the CPUID.

Now, is there a way to query CPU-world database for the CPUID?

Unfortunately, there is no way right now to query CPU-World database.

Or, is it possible to dump/submit the output from cwid.exe -d to cpu-world?

What I don't want is to have my old/retro builds with Win98/Win95/Win3/older connecting to Internet - for all the good reasons. Still, want to submit some of the data I come across when testing CPU's from the 90's...

MITM proxy doesn't show much to help me in this direction, time to move to wireshark Smile
