Can someone please provide me with some good advice regarding how to restore this Synertek 6502 CPU. I have spent years trying to find one. All of the legs are intact.

I sold my ceramic MOS 6502 in perfect condition, so I could buy this one.

I have request going back on this website since 2016! But I have been looking for one longer then that.

I would try using methelated spirits on a cotton bud.
In most cases it will not affect the print

Not a lot can be done other than cleaning it. Any attempt to electroplate the gold pins will fry the chip, and spray plating the cap will destroy the print. This is part of why the package is finished before the silicon is inserted, and the cap is plated before it's stamped.

I agree, leave it just as it is. Clean it so no fat from touching it with fingers can do further damage and then store it in a transparent box filled with CO2 or another gas. Liquid air works too, just if you can avoid O2 it's even better.
My MOS 6501 is stored that way in an apple mouse box;-) That can easily be sealed with transparent tape as there are no corners or hinges.
