A good conversation starter, let's keep this forum alive
So let me start on the latest one, I'm converting my IBM 3101 keyboard to USB standards. Finally got the Xwhatsit board delivered after so much going back and forth, lets see what this baby does |

| Is it a "cable" solution, as in - not doing any internal modifications? |

I'm like Adam - I build keyboards and convert vint keyboards to USB too.
Here's my modded DFK101 with SKCM Cream Alps. It's almost done, just need to ultrasonic clean the switches and solder them in. |

nice to see another car guy on board
CLS looks sick, must have a hand-built v8.
love the Lexus. Recently bought one for a friend of mine, 400.000km on the clock but still runs like a dream..
not sure why you decided to go with Lada. E30 is the way to go |

| I quit building model tanks for a while, but I'm thinking about starting back up again. This was a model from about 5 months ago. It's a Syrian T-55A with improvised side skirts. |

It's a very good aidea, I like it ))) I have a very old and very nice keyboard with a built-in trackball and two COM ports on the end. I still think how to use it for everyday usage, it turns out that it can, if desired, give a second chance with USB

cars & cpus .... I lake LADA project Maybe For off-road its better LADA 2121 In any case, in such projects the process itself and the creative approach to case are interesting. The result will still be better than any serial product ))) I imagine how much time it takes.
As for me, I use my processors in a variety of HW experiments, which sometimes do not carry any practical benefits, but sometimes they allow me to overcome some obstacles that were considered not to be overcome. For example, a couple of video cards in SLI on the Pentium-3 system or get the Pentium Pro to work in slot1 motherboards and so on. |

If your keyboard isn't PS2 or AT/XT, you can still convert it to USB as long as it has a relatively normal PCB. You can map the matrix with a multimeter and wire it directly to a teensy or arduino pro micro. |
