| I can tell you that BIB in this sense likely stands for Blocked Impurity Band. Semiconductor devices suffer from Impurity Band Conduction, which limits their speed and uses power. BIB is one of the ways it's mitigated, and an important thing to test you have working right so you can ramp up speeds and production. |

As it's more about testing the process rather than the design, this may be a fairly "blank" sort of silicon inside with the same number of layers as a Pentium and some basic test circuitry on each layer rather than a working die. This is probably part of their validation in moving to .35 and was done to test the process before mapping the CPU out on .35... at least that's my educated guess.
