| I wonder why someone would do that. But I think if you use a little heat (from a hair dryer or something) and some patience you can remove the tape, and after that a little cleanup and you have a nice CPU. |

some times ago clean print from gold top, now afraid experiments  _________________ Regards,

My first CPU purchase from eBay came with all of the CPUs taped together in pairs like this. About 20 different kinds. The gold top Pentiums were all ruined, but with a lot of heat, and a bit of citric acid goo remover the ceramics came out 90% unscathed, and the other gold tops about 80% - When I asked the seller why he did that he said the listing said they were being sold as gold scrap, so he didn't see a need to do anything to maintain their appearance. He certainly wasn't selling them at scrap prices though Haven't bought from him since. |
