Hi,
Topic title - I'm looking for a CPU extraction / removal tool like the 309781. Any brand/model is fine, I'm not looking for anything in particular.
Thanks for looking! |

Do you have a picture of the tool you are referring to? That part number doesn't ring a bell.
I've used chip pullers on PGA chips. Sometimes I'll gently use a flathead on each side of a chip to extract it from the socket. |

Yep, here: https://image.ibb.co/ejNWDc/00361.jpg
I usually use flatheads too, but I like to repair old boards and I have sometimes to swap processors a lot while testing - not having a proper tool puts a lot of stress on the socket and the CPUs themselves (which are most of the time ceramic... pretty sure I must've damaged one externally once with a screwdriver).
Thanks! |

Thanks for the link - I've sent them an email asking for the tool's pitch (should be 1"). Haven't got a reply yet... Fingers crossed as it's quite cheap! |

I just got mine today (I ended up ordering 4 of them given the cheap price lol)
The spacing in between the "forks" is perfect for 386 and 486 procs. _________________ My collection |

Great stuff, thanks. Just ordered one myself. Now that I think of it, I should've grabbed 2 or 3... Oh well, nevermind. Thanks again for the link! |
