Maybe some of early single core Turion Mobile 754 would fit after BIOS update but in my opinion that is not a worth of hasssle of buing it (not cheap CPUs - faster ones costs more than whole your notebook) and dissasembling notebook to CPU change.

If you are looking for speed upgrade then cheap small SSD would boost much more than any fastest CPU you can put in.

Exactly! a cheap SSD will make any old laptop feel very quick again.

500GB ones can be had for $50 or less

I haven't checked notebook specification but there is propably IDE ATA interface. There are old SSD drives with PATA interface but I'm follower of some magic things like these :

Before you would enter to this solution check dimensions of the adapter and pin connector if will fit to your notebook HDD bay.

That readout says the drives are IDE. Can you get a good IDE SSD these days?

Turion 64 single core for Socket 754 with lowest TDP as possible so around 35W. Before you dissasemble notebook for CPU upgrade please update BIOS to latest official version. BIOS update is risky and doing it wrong or with wrong version you can damage your motherboard. After that check which Turion is good for your wallet and have a try. None of members here would give you a 100% hint of compatible model.
