I have some old IV-6 VFD tubes for long time and I planned long ago to design and build a nice alarm clock using them.
Now the plan is achieved, I designed the circuit and a plastic box for it. So a nice room decoration is ready.

It’s main features:
- Controlled by a Microchip PIC16F1778 microcontroller
- DS1307 real-time clock chip provides the time base with backup battery protection
- The device utilizes an MCP9800 temperature sensor for temperature measurement
- 6 digit IV-6 VFD tube display, an RGB LED provides background light for each tube
- - 24h time display (RGB LED’s color fade animation)
- - Date display in YY.MM.DD or DD.MM.YY format
- - Temperature display in °C / °F format
- - Alarm with snooze features
- - Countdown function, selectable 1-59 minutes delay
- 4 control buttons for setting (MODE, SET, + and -)
- Night and Day modes (RGB LEDs and/or VFDs turn off at night, at programmable time)
- Automatic brightness control of VFDs and RGB LEDs

Size 14 x 6,5 x 3cm (5,54" x 2,56" x 1.18"), tube top 6cm (2.36")

I have some extra PCBs, so I can offer them as kit, if someone would like to build the clock by himself, or assembled.
A PCB and the programmed microcontroller at $8
or a full kit with all components at $35
or an assembled, tested board at $55
And the plastic box at $30.

I do not know exactly, I find documentation only in Russian. But I don't speak Russian.
Can someone find the info in the attached documentation?

Yes it is, but unfortunately it can take you only forward in time. Exactly 60 seconds in each minute.

Thanks!
They are used in dynamic mode. So at least 625 days are guaranteed in continuous run. The lifetime can be expanded if the clock does not run continuously. Eg. it should be unplugged if the owner not at home, because the RTC chip runs powered by the battery in this case. Or in night mode the VFDs can be turned out.

Nice! I'd like one fully assembled with plastic case please.

Thanks!
I collect the requests then I'll order the plastic cases from the factory. Then the fabrication of the cases will take a few weeks. So be patient, please.
