I found very early XC881100RC20. At first look I thought it is a sample. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum.

I have a similar CPU from Week 49, and a an ES from week 48 LOL |
I don't know if that is viewable from the photo but goldcap looks like polished and once again printed. Maybe cost-reduction from Motorola in those years with remarking ESs to end-user pieces ? Very propably as no sense to fake that chip. _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Your XC88100RC20 looks same polished and because of uneven surface the font is not so sharp as on ES or on later production. Not cleaned pencil markings are very interesting indeed
Mine looks like it was decapped (resoldered lid). Real second hand quality from Motorola _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |
