When I found a place like that, I had 24 hours to sift through and remove anything I wanted, then they had booked someone to take what was left as scrap before they went out of business. Back then I was only interested in CPUs, and I ended up scrapping loads of good hardware just to get a load of pre-Pentium CPUs. I never had the space to take more than 100 PCs, and never had the contacts to find another place like it. Now, I would pile them high in the bathroom if it meant having more computers to tinker with Smile

I spoke too soon. That has to be 20 times the size of anything I picked through back in the day Smile

And back in the day it was worth nothing. If you know what we threw away when I was working in a computer shop, you would shoot me in the head.

If we never threw this stuff away, it wouldn't have ever become as interesting to collectors.

I can't imagine what someone could make if a collector wins the eventual auction! I hope it doesn't sell for scrap. I saw a few items I would love, like the old Hercules cards Smile

Wow, I wouldn't dare booking a flight before having a confirmed opening. According to the Facebook page, it's pretty straight forward "If no opening has been announced, there will be no entry". And it looks like the owner has annouced vacation right now?

Right, if I understand correctly, they are handling all visits through Facebook. I don't have a Facebook account, and cannot see their page.

So, while I'll be in Dallas this week end, there will be no events. August is likely too warm. I have friends in Dallas and stuff to do there, which is why I went ahead anyway. Booking a flight ahead of time is cheap, booking last minute would not have been feasible for me.
