Here are a pair of the adapters used to run S478 CPUs in older S423 motherboards.

Saw somewhere this type of adaptor limits the options to 400MHz FSB only Willamette core or early Northwood, and max 2GHz CPU frequency |

I have one of these with 2.8 GHz Northwood and it's running fine on MS-6385 mainboard |

Not a lot of difference in the cores that the BIOS would care about.

It works in MSI 850 Pro (MS-6339) and MSI 850 Pro2 (MS-6523), too. Overclocking also works. _________________ My Active Sales |
