Im going to register a domain for the image gallery but i need an opinion on what to register.

Im thinking around, cpugallery.com cpupictures.com cpulibrary.com

As english is not my native language, whats the best english word to use, image, picture or photo? And then gallery, library or directory?

Or something else?

knowncpus.com, knownchips.com, chipregistry.com, cpuregistry.com

If you have any suggestions what to register, do reply...

cpupictures is more often searched for, so I would use it.

I know, but I am sure it is only a few pence to register a domain isn't it?

A domain really doesn't cost that much anymore these days, I pay for a domain + 500mb hosting space and the whole php, asp etc shebang about 50 euro's. The domain itself is about 16 euro's (I have www.oldcomputercollection.com and www.computer-museum.net)

I always advise people to register domain themselves, then buy a hosting package. This gives maximum flexibility AND total control. You dont want to go down the ICANN Domain Dispute route. Trust me.

I dont se why you need to register more than one domain for this kind of non-profit site. Just a simple domain for everyone to remember. The goal here is not to be ranked high on google or to create a lot of traffic to Google ads.

In this case the name proposed by chiptalk - www.cpuphotolibrary.com - would be the best for the site.
