Hi guys,

I'm curious how you store your CPUs, in particular the ones with pins.

My current solution is with a stackable 3D printed holder.

Currently I have them in AM2/2+/3, LGA1366, and LGA775/115X sizes, with plans for G1/G2 & Socket 370.

If there's enough interest, I could look into getting a run printed, but I'd also like to hear if you guys have better solutions...

I use the industry standard trays that can be stacked. The standard size holds 2x5 Socket 7 or similar, 21 socket 775, etc. I would not personally be interested in custom sized trays unless they are VERY cheap. To hold only 4 CPUs, I would struggle to justify more than $2, even if some standard trays are difficult to find, as that price would be comparable with the prices of larger trays. You might get some good interest here if you let us know what price you expect them to be.

I've been on Thingiverse looking for holders, but overall was unimpressed with the models. At least for these CPU's, the existing models fit very sloppy and didn't stack. If you know of some good models, please link?

I'm not looking at making any money here (in fact if the good people on this forum want the models, I'm more than happy to provide).

My poor little Monoprice printer isn't really up to production, so I'd have to get a local company to print a run of them. Initial quotes are looking to be ~ $6 CAD each, for a conservative run of 20, plus shipping (Maybe AVICC is up for that? That could make the shipping fairly reasonable.)

Their printers are faster than mine, and bigger runs drop the price, so it'd likely get a bit cheaper if I ran an actual quote.

I think most people use trays like these: http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33161

You can get them for almost every CPU, but sometimes only with soft plastic.
