Yes you're right and I wont make this a discussion thread, but... you can order this item nos for around 40$ like Borris ordered the other 8008. Ebay is not a good mirror for real prices. Sometimes it makes me happy, sometimes not... It depends if you are the seller or not... always the same game |

Hey, why not make it a discussion thread? Maybe we'll have to move it to the "General discussions" area if it starts to attract a crowd!
Some people on this board, including poor little me, are not sitting on a huge scrapyard of electronic devices from which we can pull old C4004's in quantities. And we do not have access to component traders where we could place one of our small collection orders inside a huge transaction, either.
So, Frank, there is a huge difference between knowing "this chip is out there somewhere for as little as $4.99" and being able to get it at that price, too. I could give you a want list of at least 25 items in no time of which I know one can order them (even in small quantities) from component brokers -- as long as you order things for a few hundred bucks. However, I have not yet found a kind person to slip an order into one of their big orders for me. And since I do not have any "real rare" chips to trade, I probably won't be able to do that in the near future.
So, I'm stuck with Ebay, group buys and asking friends for electronic scrap. Any other ideas? I'd gladly hear them! AND I'm still looking for an opportunity of ordering some rarities through a broker...
Have a nice one!

it's not easy to find some chips.
for example, i can't buy MFR8008-1R from my chip-broker, i asked him 2 times.
But i got MFR8008-R, which other people aren't able to buy.
strange, i thought all the chip-brokers have the same sources, but they didn't.
