| Does anyone have one of these? I have seen pictures of i7-870X SLBP3 but never seen any photos of i7-995X. Anyone know any info? Q-Spec? S-Spec? I know 870X was basically an early run of 875K but never got released to public. Would like to know why they renamed it from an extreme edition to just a normal K SKU. |

They probably dropped the X in order to keep the Extreme Edition's premium pricing. Selling a ~$300 extreme would de-value the branding. _________________ My collection |

Some forums from the past seem to report the i7-995X had a completely blank IHS. I highly doubt the cpu-z reports were faked, it seems plausible that the chips were available to Intel employee's.
As far as the 870X, I'm having trouble discerning the pictures I've found. It seems like it could be SLBP3 or SL8P3, though both SSpec's had been used previously. |

It's definitely SLBP3 (https://www.sinaimg.cn/IT/h/2010-09-06/1283732492_zxxsYc.jpg), I've seen one in person when I was forced to visit my relatives in China.
SLBP3 (B1) / Q3KZ (B0) are i7-870X (Lynnfield)
Core i7 880X also exists, as well as many strange SKUs like Core i7 963, i7 953, etc.
About Core i7-995X, they have been produced in small quantities : SLBYP / Q4SJ, both B1-step.
Do you have any of these interesting CPUs? |
