Was it more common for the goldcap ES chips to end up with that corrosion / "staining" around the edges? I have a P75 Q0649 with a very similar pattern on the cap. I haven't seen it on normal production parts, but maybe its just a coincidence. _________________ My collection |

I've got about 20Pcs Pentium pro ES and I think this is an isolated case.
I reckon the corrosion/staining on the edge is likely related to the storage environment - such as moisture, temperature, etc.
I've got a PCPU5V60 (Retail version) with similar staining, but not so common on my other gold cap pentium collections. _________________ Want List
