These were originally designed by Alcatel Microelectronics which ST bought in 2002
The portion of that deal that made these was then almost immediately sold to AMI Semiconductor so these were made in the few months in between.
(ST continued to provide chips for Alcatel, using Alcatels fabs that it sold to AMI, complicated for sure)
The MTC-20156 is the digital SoC for a DynaMiTe ADSL controller and is based on a 36MHz ARM core made on a 0.25u CMOS process
Fairly early ARM chip for ST, which at the time was using more ST20/ST320 based stuff (and even some SH based cores)

10x ST MTC-20156TQ-C1 C156-4AB ARM $2 each or 2 for $3 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
