Today I reached my 1500th cpu on my x86 database made for my website.
Moreover, it will be in a few days the first anniversary of the beginning of the developpment

And last, it is quite stable and almost everything is coded.

So for all these reasons, I present it to you today...

The main goals were :

- to present my collection to the world
- to list all x86 in order to see what was missing
- to manage my collection, cpus to pay, cpus to receive, cpus to sell, for trade...etc.
- to make some articles on cpus with a collector point of view, which is quite never the case on almost all other collectors' websites (the "guide" part). For the moment, this section is in construction and only available when you choose french language.

It is all done in php & mysql.

There are still a lot of bugs, but for the english section the only one (I know) concerns the trading forms. I should receive cpus chosen, but I don't...
Most of bugs are in administration section, and articles section. And, as already said, this last one is only available in french for the moment...

OK, stop the blabla and have a look at :

http://www.x86-guide.com

All comments welcome. Especially, please tell me if speed is OK, if it works well with browsers other than IE, and with res < 1024x768, if my english is good...
Also, there is rarity rates for most of cpus of the database. If you don't agree with some, feel free to tell it.
And if you see a cpu missing in database, just tell me.

Nice site.

Only one problem I have found. When viewing the collection in Firefox, the menu on the left has a problem. "National Semiconductor" wraps onto a second line, with "Semicondutor" and "NexGen" being in the same place. Click on it and it goes to NexGen, it's just very difficult to see that NexGen is there if you didn't know because of it being overwritten. Other than that, it's a great site, lot of good data, and a nice layout.

Very interesting... and complicated. Sad
No pbm on IE. Confused

I will fix text size in order to make "National Semiconductor" fit in one line, in anycase...

Impressive collection and a nice site!

cpu_view_grande.gif does not work in Firefox.

Hmm, I didn't understand.... Confused

Anyway, I can see with your pics that it is not working as it should...

With firefox, you don't even have possibility to switch in english (flags are missing in the menu...)

Here is a cap in IE :

Yepp, tried it in IE and it looked great! But im a Firefox fan...

If you move the pointer as the red arrow, the menu sticks out over the page covering the images and text.

Like this...

Green = No menu
Red = Menu
Blue = irritating

aaaaahhh yes !!!

This is normal.
In fact, not really, but I don't know how to make it work as I wanted. I wanted to hide it if you go outside the menu. But I didn't manage to do it.

So now, if you go on the sub-menu, it will show and to hide it, two solutions : click on one item (but you will go to an other page Sad) or roll over an other main menu (in purple)

There is also a big alignment problem in the Commerce > Ventes > disponible page. Price and the button to select an item are not next to the item being priced and selected. I'm viewing at 1280 x 1024, if that makes a difference to your layout Smile

I will work on it
