This is one of the faster 5400 series Xeons

These also can be pin modded (or with an adapter) to work in a LGA775 board, they are a bit faster then a Core 2 Quad Q9650

18x Xeon X5472 3.00GHZ/12M/1600 Harpertown-C0 4-Core SLASA $6 each

yah something I get cheap something not, in this case they still sell for $10ish on eBay so my supplier didnt want to go very low

Apparently people still use these (and they were used in Mac Pros as well)

If you put "Apple" in a cpu ebay auction, it is always sold much more than without... I've some stats for some Xeons like this, but my site is down, again..., so I cannot tell more right now...

Anyway, I will take one.

OK site is working again. It is a little out of topic, but see below the ebay stats I got for X5482 : all the peaks are for items with Apple in the title !
It is same for X5472 but I have only 9 entries for it and only one with "Apple" keyword, so it is less spectacular...
