I like both as a seller and as a buyer.

As a buyer:
auction - there is a chance to buy a chip cheap.
fixed price - less hassle, no competition Smile

As a seller:
auction - best way to get a good price on rare chips. May work for more common chips too.
fixed price - good way of getting a decent price on a bunch of identical chips.

Actually I have had plenty of bargains from sellers who have listed their items as Buy it now, but not knowing the 'collectability' of the item.

One such thing was the Intel clock. Smile

Also, sometimes when you see bulk auctions, I dare say you can email the seller asking them to change it to a buy it now at an offered price so you can ge the chips straight away and not risk them going to hi. Well if you have the time, the patience and the luck - You can snipe on these auctions that suddenly become Buy It Nows.

I have only ever experienced this as a seller though, not a buyer. Smile
