| Hmm. Why do the ROM versions have windows? The windows were back then a large part of what made the chips expensive. |

Indeed, but they didn't have a MaskROM version available with the exact same specs, so they painted over the windows and called it a ROM version
They did this with EPROMs as well, like the 2608 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
