These are fairly uncommon MIPS CPUs. The VR7701 is a 400MHz Vr5500 core with a DDR memory controller, PCI-X Controller and 256K halfspeed L2 Cache on die. It also includes 32K of I/D Caches
This was NECs attempt to compete with the QED MIPS RM7000 line
They are made on a 0.13u process
