| I have an Asus X509FJ laptop which I bought last week.My laptop has an Intel Core i5-8265U processor,Geforce MX230 GPU and 8 GB ram.My little brother decided to play Forza Horizon 4 on higher than optimal settings for a few minutes on my laptop.I was unwilling to let him play on such high settings and warned him that my laptop is not capable of bearing the load of such high graphics but he didn't listen to me and told me that nothing bad would happen. So what I want to know is that will my laptop be okay? |

Playing a game using the game's settings won't harm your laptop. The only way it would generally put too much stress on it would be if it was heavily overclocked without adequate cooling, but the game would crash long before any damage is done.
If I am understanding you right, playing on higher than optimal settings mean he is asking the laptop to do more than it is capable of, and the worst effect from that would be that the game would stutter. That is because no game should be able to make your laptop run faster, but it can, for example, change graphics resolution to something higher than the gpu can run at a high speed. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
