On paper the Vega64 is better, but you are often better off looking up benchmark comparisons. The AMD card was the high end card in it's series, while the NVidia card was more mainstream, albeit a year later.

RTX 2070 is a much more powerful gaming card than the RX VEGA 64, in fact, even the 2060 will outperform it in games

The Vega 64 outperforms the 2060.

2070 vs Vega 64 is a much more iffy sort to compare. The 2070 is roughly a bit better than a 1080 (which is what the 64 was up against originally).

If you are doing non-gaming compute things on the side, the Vega would be your best bet. The Vega 64 is very very power-hungry, so be sure to have a beefy PSU.

I have been dailying a Vega 64 limited edition since launch, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Otherwise the 2070 would probably make more sense.

If the prices are the same, I'd say go for the 2070, otherwise if you get a solid deal on a vega 64 (or a 56 for that matter) then go that way.

Sadly doesn't happen often in games unless they are the kind of game which run better on AMD, some of the nvidia favoring games can even put the v64 below the 1660s, is pretty much up to the games and/or tasks he does
