|
|
I have a few 14 pin sockets, but need the same with only the 4 pins in the corners for crystals on older motherboards. I can't remove the surplus pins myself as don't have a heat gun or similar. Does anyone know where I can get sockets with just the 4 corner pins, or have the skills to remove the surplus pins for me? I'm wanting to set up boards for testing CPUs of different speeds. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I just tried - had thought my wide pliers would be too difficult, but it seems you are right, and they pop out reasonably easily. Thanks. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

These are DIP-14 or DIL-14 sockets. Those not needed round holes can be removed. In fact, the whole socket isn't needed. Just 4 round holes may be soldered. _________________ My Active Sales |

Yes, I used pliers after cvandjik suggested it. I'll be using the sockets with just the 4 pins left, if I kept the pins I would likely lose them before the boards are ready for them _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I managed to modify the sockets I have, but thanks. These are the cheapest option if I ever need more _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

This will be for 386 and earlier boards with crystal oscillators _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
