The other day I was looking for a very specific processor: LGA-775, 45nm, FSB 1066 (Because that's the fastest this SiS motherboard I have for my win98se system supports) and the highest stock multiplier possible because this system doesn't support overclocking. And the website is gone and there's no official "Supported CPU list". So this involved pretty much looking through cpu-world (because this is the only database of it's kind) and spawning all the LGA 775 processors in a new tab to slowly look through all of them one by one to find the one with the highest multiplier.

For some reason.. this has caused someone at this website to flag my computer at home with an IP ban for bot traffic. Who do I contact to tell them I'm not a robot? I was just a human looking for a specific chip.

...Caused the anti-scraping bot to ban that IP
I'll let the admin know for ya

Fastest Core 2 Duo with a native 1066 FSB that can be easily found is the E7600 (11.5x multi).

Fastest Pentium Dual-Core with the 1066FSB is the E6800 (12.5x multi).

Some chips with 1333MHz FSB might run at 1066 (depends on the board), but that doesn't leave many with higher multipliers.

There are some ES chips with higher multipliers, but they can be harder to track down.

Celeron E3000/E3900 QLVM has an 800MHz FSB with a 17x multi.
Pentium E6000/E6900 QLPP has a 1066MHz FSB with a 13x multiplier.

Otherwise fastest quad-core would be the QX6800. Your board may not officially offer multiplier adjustments in the BIOS, but you can use a program like Intel XTU or ThrottleStop to manually adjust your multiplier.

Do you know the model of your motherboard? Or the specific chipset that the board is using?

EDIT: Honorable mention to the Pentium E6500K and Core 2 Extreme X6800. Unlocked multipliers on both of them. Not sure if your board supports quads.

If you want the fastest speed (in terms of multi-core processing power) a 65nm Quad core will be much faster. That limits you to QX6700 (10x) or QX6800 (11x). If you really want 45nm, it will, even with the slightly higher multiplier, be much slower.

The IP that was banned was <REDACTED>, not the one I'm currently logged in as fyi.. I logged in here from work because I can't access the forums from home.

Thank you both for trying but I already found the processor I was searching for a few days ago. This thread is about the IP ban, not the processor.

Hello!

The IP was banned for two reasons:

1. Accessing large number of pages in short period of time (20 HTML pages in 15 seconds).

2 Using Adblock.

I unblocked it, you shouldn't have problems accessing the site now.

I do run and ad blocker but I white-listed your site and allow all of your ads through when I browse your website. I can't completely uninstall the adblocker, it's necessary for other websites. It's a bannable offense to have an adblocker installed in our browser, even if we white-list your site now?

Am I going to be IP blocked again just for having the ad blocker installed?

Also.. so we get IP banned if we decided to spawn a few CPU pages in multiple tabs? I wish I would of known that or had it displayed somewhere as a "Do not do this." I'll remember that in the future and try to not load too many pages too quickly. Sorry about that.

I don't know anything about adblocker detection, but opening a lot of pages in a very short time gets IPs blocked if they don't belong to known forum members, as a preventative (and automatic) measure to protect against anyone who might be trying to clone the site. It won't have been personal. Glad gshv was able to create an exception for you so quickly.

Yes, thank you to everyone for this. And sorry for that. I'll avoid doing that in the future.

Just for the record, I have been IP banned for weeks.

What changed on my side lately is the new Chrome that I replaced the un-upgradeable (is this a word?) Portable version with a fresh regular one in my new system because my old SSD died. So, a "new" Win7 too.

Since a while ago Chrome pre loads pages more agressivly. So you need to disable that. And gshv can block those request since chrome adds a special header with those requests.

Edit: it's the Purpose: prefetch header gshv needs to block.

Maybe that was my problem all along.. chrome pre-loading a lot of the website I didn't actually load. Because I only spawned about 20-30 pages in tabs that one time when it happened... I thought it was a little odd I got flagged for that.

I do use chrome. I'll google about the pre-loading thing and find the flag to turn it off. I don't want to get flagged on accident again.

Open chrome://settings/privacy
There is a setting to turn off preloading

Hm. Preloading is disabled in my Chrome, yet I regularly get banned for long periods. I can't say anything about others on my IP though as I'm behind NAT by my ISP. What can I do to prevent it?
