The Intel 2910/2910A was the first single chip PCM Codec and was quite revolutionary for its time.
It found use in many telecoms systems in the late 1970's and early 1980s before other companies moved in to make similar and better products.

THe 2910/2910A used the uLAW algorithm with the 2911/2911A used the ALAW algorithm (for different telecoms apps)

The 2912 was the PCM line filter which went with the 2910/2911

All these chips were made on an NMOS process

Interestingly Intel stopped making these in 1983 or so, but by then ITT (and others) had designed them in, making sourcing them interesting.
It turns out TI and National Semi were commissioned to make compatible replacements, in NMOS, and later in CMOS, which the went on to market on their own as well

The National TP3040AJ is a microCMOS equivalent to the Intel D2912 (in this case its even marked ITT)
National also made a TP3020 (2910 equiv) and TP3021 (2911 equiv)

The TI TCM9910 and TCM9010 were made for ITT (and also have ITT house numbers), they are the equivalent of the D2910, and later were named the TCM2910 by TI
