Socket 478 motherboards should also work with Mobile Pentium 4 processors. I have a Shuttle MV43 with a Mobile Pentium 4-M 1700.

But...

- The processor will run underclocked, because mobile Northwoods have 2 modes: full speed and voltage (on my cpu: 1700MHz, 1.3V) and low speed and voltage (1200, 1.2V) and in desktop motherboards they run at the lower setting (normally 1200Mhz). This does not apply to Mobile Celerons though, as they have only one speed and voltage.

- The voltage supplied to the processor may not be right. My cpu runs at 1.6v when it should be 1.2v. (but because of the underclocking, it doesn't get hot) But with your motherboard you should be able to select the right voltage.

So I suggest you to try it only if you know what you are doing.
