Hello, I would like to know if my Intel D815EEA motherboard is compatible with an Intel Pentium III coppermine, 1000 Mhz, 1.75V, socket 370, FC-PGA2 CPU with a heat spreader? My motherboard has a socket 370 that can be used with the Pentium III up to 1000 Mhz in a FC-PGA design because I already updated my bios to a P11. According to the documentation for my motherboard, the motherboard can support cpu core voltages from 1.6V to 2.0V with a PPGA or FC-PGA CPU. I'm currently using Pentium III 866 Mhz CPU and would like to upgrade to at least a 1000 Mhz CPU with my current set up. Any information is appreciated thank you.

There is only one difference between FCPGA & FCPGA2 Cumine - FCPGA2 CPU has IHS. So you can use this CPU with your MoBo
But note that you cann't use FCPGA2 Tualatin CPUs in D815EEA...

So a FC-PGA2 can't post in a FC-PGA only MoBo without an adapter? I have wondered about that question for some time now. Dont have a Tualatin to test it with.
