Help needed with cpu & mb combo

hi all, Im hoping someone can help me out. My parents pc has packed in
and after doing a few checks I thought it was either a mb problem or cpu failure, so I went ahead and bought a second hand mb on ebay.

The board is 'msi p4mam2-v' and supports the following;
• Supports socket 478 for Intel® P4/Celeron(D) (Northwood/Prescott) processors.
• FSB 400/533MHz
• Supports up to 3.06GHz

I want to test the cpu from the old machine (celeron sl6xj 2.3/128/400) on the new board, but didnt realise the new msi board states celeron(d).
so my question is this, Is this cpu usable with the new board ? I just assumed so because its skt478 and 400fsb.

does anyone know ?
