Here is a card you don't see much, intels Wildcard 88
Its a 80C88AL chip on board (CoB) with an integrated chipset, BIOS, and in the -N version, a socket for an 8087

Its all the base components of a 8088 on a card, so all you need to add is the ISA slots, etc

I have seen this in latest version of Leading Edge Model D(Actually, known as PRO-2000 in Korea)

Early Model D's mobo is filled with many DIPs, mid-age Model D has several Zymos logics. And latest verson has above card and some SMD chips. (You can rarely find each version, but mid-age and latest version has VARTA Ni-CD battery, so battery leakage may ruin the mobo. I have mid-age version)

If someone has this card, and good at PCB artwork, you can make Leading Edge replica(?). Or you can build small test computer for testing old device. Follwing link is the one.

I have the Solution A Publication of Intel Corporation magazine that they did publish release information article on this subject. I have to go through sometimes and tell when it was released.

I actually have both the Wildcard-88N and Wildcard-88-10N as well as some of the original MegaTel literature.

Sergey's motherboard (link above) is fantastic and works very well.

The Wildcard-88 was 4.77/7.15mhz and no 8087 socket, the -N added an 8087 socket. The Wildcard-88 -10N also had a 9.54mhz speed as well as the 8087 socket.

I also have preliminary specs on the Megatel vid/mem card which used the same 68 pin simm format. I've never seen one.

The Wildcards were $75, $83 and $91 in 1991.

The price list also mentioned a "Wildbus" backplane as well as a Multi/IO card.

As a side note, 68 pin SIMM's are very tough to locate!

Unfortunately it uses a rather unique 68 pin SIMM socket. I have successfully cut a 72 pin SIMM socket in half and removed a bit of the middle to work, as I only had a single 68 pin SIMM socket.
