These are pretty cool New In Box MCUs
The RL78 was the first new micro design from Renesas after they formed from the merger with NEC (and Hitachi earlier)
The RL78 is a combo of the Renesas R8C and NEC 78K0R micro.
They are made on a 130nm process, and in this version support 81 instructions.
Its a 16-bit processor that supports hardware multiply/divide and runs at up to 32MHz with a 3-stage pipeline
These devkits are pretty full featured, with a LCD, e-ink display, wifi, and micreoSD support
I have 3 of them
